EICAR Paris asserts itself in the gaming world with Ici Japon Corp. and TEV
On September 4, 2024, we had the honor of hosting a major event for the gaming community on the EICAR Paris campus: the Up & Down Viewing Party by La Banque Postale. This event provided a complete immersion into the world of e-sports, bringing together more than 350 participants – students, professionals, and enthusiasts – to watch the live broadcast on Twitch of the League of Legends BO5 matches, featuring e-sports teams from Ici Japon Corp. and Aegis.
The panoramic space on the 7th floor of the school was specially equipped for the occasion with a giant LED screen and all the necessary technical equipment to do much more than just watch the matches: it offered guests an immersive experience. This event reflects our commitment to placing EICAR at the heart of the creative and digital industries.
La Banque Postale, the main sponsor of the Ici Japon team, along with other event partners such as Predator, Cora, and Ubigi, helped create an atmosphere conducive to networking, allowing our students and guests to meet professionals from the industry.
A memorable evening for the gaming community
After competing against prestigious teams like IziDream, MHSC Esport, Esprit Shonen, and Klanik Esport, Ici Japon’s team took on a new challenge against Aegis. Special seats were reserved for students, allowing them to experience the action up close. This was a unique opportunity for them to witness high-level e-sports confrontations and benefit from live analysis by 5D and Pablitoz, two well-known commentators in the gaming world. These commentators provided real-time commentary on Twitch and interacted with the audience between matches. According to 5D and Pablitoz, commentating in front of a live audience is an enriching experience: "Seeing and hearing people react encourages and energizes us, filling us with stimulating excitement."
A valuable professional experience for our students
Frédéric Sitterlé, Director of EICAR, emphasized: “We are proud to have given our students the opportunity to experience this event from the inside. It enriches both their journey and their professional network.”
EICAR and YNOV students joined the technical team to participate in video production and event management, gaining valuable experience in audiovisual production. Equipped with Sony FX6 cameras provided by the EICAR store, they filmed key moments of the evening and honed their skills.
As explained by Zanou Nawel, a YNOV audiovisual student: "It’s so exciting to be immersed in an event like this. The campus facilities are impressive and make you want to come study here."

For more than 50 years, EICAR has established itself as a key player in the fields of cinema, audiovisual production, and, more recently, streaming and digital content creation. This collaboration with Ici Japon confirms our commitment to staying at the forefront of creative trends. Other events are already planned, notably with Mothaiba, to continue offering our students experiences they won't find anywhere else.
