The Major Stages of Creation
Inspiration > Registration > Creation > Participation and Confirmation are the 5 major steps through which our students' films went to officially enter the competition.
The rules state that films submitted to the competition must not exceed 2 minutes and 20 seconds. This format is particularly suitable for contemporary platforms as it allows for online distribution.
This year saw a record number of participants with 2,772 films. Discover the full list of films.
The Voting Process
Since February 1, 2024, the films have been open to public voting. We count on you to actively support the creations of EICAR students and alumni.
The Nikon Film Festival is open to amateur and professional filmmakers. Many students from the Bachelor’s Degree in Directing at EICAR Paris and Lyon participated in this new edition, along with students from other fields, such as acting, sound, and music.
A Jury of Professionals
The 50 finalists are selected by a committee composed of several professionals from the audiovisual sector.
The selected short films will be presented to the jury members, presided over this year by Quentin Dupieux.
In total, 13 technical and artistic awards will be presented to the best films, including the Grand Jury Prize, the International Prize, the Screenplay Prize, and the Photography Prize. Additionally, a School Award, for which 728 films are competing this year, will be presented.
The Public Prize is determined by online votes, open until April 10, 2024.
