Fanny Pousset: a role model in acquisitions and distribution for EICAR's international students
As part of the Guest Lecture Series, Fanny Pousset, Director of Acquisitions and Distribution at INA, shared her professional experience with EICAR's international students. Her talk explored the challenges and opportunities facing the audiovisual sector worldwide. At EICAR, the International Filmmaking Programs focus on international cinema, giving students the skills they need to work abroad, like Luc Walpoth, a former student who went on to become a director in the USA.
An international audiovisual pathway for careers beyond France's borders
EICAR is a global player in higher education, with a student body representing over 60 nationalities. Currently head of acquisitions at INA, Fanny Pousset has played a key role in launching 12 TV channels and a VOD platform internationally. The students had the opportunity to go behind the scenes of these ambitious projects, and discover the skills needed to evolve in an audiovisual sector undergoing constant transformation, well beyond French borders.
Cultural adaptability in the audiovisual sector
In her masterclass, Fanny Pousset emphasized the importance of cultural adaptability in the audiovisual sector. At EICAR, we encourage collaboration between all disciplines, actively encouraging international students to work alongside their French-speaking peers. This approach stimulates mutual enrichment and prepares students to adopt a global and inclusive vision of the film and creative professions.
The Guest Lecture Series continues throughout the year, providing an opportunity to learn from each other in a variety of fields
Fanny Pousset spoke of her experience working with major players such as Canal+ in Burma and Gulf Film, and demonstrated the richness and diversity of the opportunities offered by the industry to those ready to take up its challenges. EICAR regularly welcomes film industry personalities as part of its Guest Lecture Series, enabling students to discover a wide range of film professions and inspiring career paths. Guests have included Soraya Kasdi, a lawyer specializing in intellectual property and ICT law, Laure Cottin Stefanelli, a French visual artist and film director, and Sarah Blum, director of photography.
