International openness has been part of EICAR's DNA for many years, and the school welcomes students from Europe and around the world every year. We sat down with Alexander, a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) student from the United States. He shared his thoughts on his first year in Paris and what motivated him to choose EICAR.

— Interview excerpts —

Why did you choose EICAR?

I really wanted to come to a city known for the arts, and I think Paris is one of them. I’m specifically a writer, I love writing, it’s my passion, and looking into the history and the fact that so many great writers spent time here, it seemed natural to me to try and follow in their footsteps. For me, EICAR was a very natural choice when I was researching and selecting schools.

How does the school help you develop your skills?

So far, EICAR has been a great place to learn more about filmmaking and the TV world. I’ve always wanted to work in this field, and coming to a place filled with others who share the same passion as me, then getting guidance from industry professionals who teach us skills I never even knew existed, has truly been one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had.
